Oh yeah, and I can’t stand Rush Limbaugh. When it comes time to start grinding people into cat food, I’ll gladly turn the crank while everyone else keeps feeding a steady stream of Republicans into the grinder. A good friend of mine, a self proclaimed hippie and very independent thinker in his own right, has long said that Republicans should be harvested for food, LOL. Of course he means it tongue in cheek, but he used to have a bumper sticker on the back of his VW bus that said “Republican - It’s what’s for dinner!” You can guess how that went over in a red state like this one, LOL. Very few ever had the guts to confront him on though strangely enough . . . .

Being able to own a gun is a guaranteed constitutional right in this country, and “thinking it’s cool” is the only reason one should need so long as they’re mentally stable and have no criminal record. Just my opinion, and I know mileage may vary, so please don’t take as I’m some “my way or the highway” kind of character. I gave up trying to argue politics years ago, and especially when it comes to particularly emotional issues. No one is going to change anyone else’s mind, so I think it best to just shake hands, agree to disagree, and live and let live. That’s the Libertarian in me talking, and I make a lot more friends that way.

It’s interesting that you seem to have added some libertarian points to the book. As you know, I’m pretty much a liberal — and don’t agree with Rush Limbaugh on anything… haha — but I will try to keep an open mind. Maybe I can learn something. I guess I’m more libertarian when it comes to personal issues and liberal when it comes to the role of government providing healthcare, social safety net, etc.

Still don’t know what to think about guns. I grew up in Georgia thinking guns were great. Then moved to Asia where guns are illegal and thought making guns illegal was great. As I said, you’ve probably done more to make me reconsider banning guns than almost anyone in recent years. If anything else, you’ve made it seem cool to own guns… haha…. now there’s a real deep political opinion… it looks cool!!

I like the stuff about passive aggressive people. I have tended to notice this type of behavior more in others (and myself) as I’ve gotten older. It’s definitely not a good thing. I was thinking a lot about the 2 rules yesterday. It will be interesting to see how this chapter fits into the rest of the book.

Anyway, great stuff. Even when I don’t agree with you, you make me think… which is more than I can say for most people who are “national media stars”.

As I said, I’ve had success writing short articles and essays, even getting them published locally. $30 Writing School was a big inspiration.

But writing a whole book still seems like an overwhelming task. I’m fascinated by the mindset it takes to complete such a big project. And, well, you seem to be a guy who has no problem getting books finished.

I’m seriously looking forward to this one. As I said, it seems you’ve hinted at writing a completely self-help book for a while now. Although, as you said, all of your books definitely have “life advice” in them.

Can`t wait for April to read it!!

I have a request: If you have time on your podcast, would you consider describing writing the book? You definitely get projects DONE. I have enjoyed _$30 Writing School_, but just wondered if you had any new comments on this particular project or writing a non-fiction book in general.
