Your take on Boston was so hilarious — I was laughing so hard that I was almost crying.
OK, so I’ll admit it then…I’m a closet Boston fan!
The way I got into them is a weird story. In college, I had an Italian roommate… a guy from Northern Italy and we shared a two bedroom condo. Anyway, one summer his little brother decided to visit and spend a few weeks in America. His little brother was a rabid Boston fan. In fact, I don’t remember him playing anything but Boston CDs for about three and a half weeks straight.. no kidding!
I had heard the name of the band, but never actually heard their music. This was in the mid to late ’90’s. The first time I met him and he told me that he loved them, I was like, “Great. I’m glad you like American music.” But then I heard one of his CD and I was like, “God, this HORRIBLE. This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard.”
Three and a half weeks later, I was singing along and thinking, “You know, Boston is actually pretty good!” Haha.
Actually, I’m not THAT into Boston, but he did help me appreciate their music. I often think that I would have probably never heard them if it weren’t for him. And, no, I’d never mention them as my favorite band in a personals ad.
I’m in the process of moving to a new apartment now. When I get moved, hopefully in the next week or two, can’t wait to order the book!! Congratulations on finishing! The last two podcasts were hilarious. Especially the story about you falling asleep and thinking someone was banging on the door. That one had my laughing pretty hard too, as I could picture it in my mind.
p.s. The only reason I confessed to liking Boston is that your excellent rendition of their song revealed your own extensive knowledge of their music! Haha…

I used to smoke pot as a teen and listen to them on 8-track tape in the dark. I especially loved that stoney cheesy song “foreplay.” It took me on musical journeys in the dark that I could SEE!
>Can’t wait to order the book!!
yay!
Please review it on Amazon after you read it. Thanks!

Howdy Deans, just dropping a line to let you know I finally caught up on the last two episodes, been out of the loop for a few weeks. It’s great to hear you two being a little more upbeat again, it was obvious that you were working pretty feverishly on the book, and your elation at finishing it showed when I listened last night. I think congratulations are in order, and I intend on ordering two copies soon, one for myself, and another for a friend of ours that could use a little help dealing with all of the serenity vampires in her life. I told her about the sample chapters I read, and she’s excited to see what else you have to say. Frankly, so am I.
I think my favorite Boston song was always More Than A Feeling. I actually like a lot of Boston songs, but years ago whenever that one would come on the radio my friends and I would always sing along and change the words to “Fuckin’ and Sqealin’” then we’d laugh like we were really clever for coming up with it, LOL. Of course we were usually under the influence of some mind altering substance or another back in those days, so it didn’t take much to amuse us.
